The AONE Annual Awards recognize honorees for their outstanding service and achievements to the nursing community. Award winners will be notified by the end of 2017.

Affiliate Achievement

Recognizes an AONE Affiliate that promotes nursing leadership and its influence in the areas of the advancement of nursing practice, patient safety, quality, recruitment and retention, or another priority initiative and can serve as a model.

Eligibility
Nominee must be an AONE Affiliate

Honorary Member

Recognizes an individual who supports AONE’s mission and contributes to advancing health care through AONE’s core business.

Eligibility
Nominee is ineligible for full membership as an AONE member. Recognized and respected leader. Demonstrates a commitment to AONE’s core business and supports AONE’s mission, vision or strategic plan through his or her work, research or service to health care.

Lifetime Achievement

AONE’s highest and most prestigious award given to a member recognized by the broader nursing community as a significant leader in the nursing profession.

Eligibility
Nominee must be a current or retired AONE member who has served AONE in an important leadership capacity. Current members of the AONE Board of Directors and/or AONE staff are not eligible.

Mentor

Recognizes a nurse in executive practice who is an exemplary in supporting the professional development of colleagues by serving as a mentor or advisor. Embodies the definition of a mentor as a “trusted counselor or guide”.

Eligibility
Nominee must be a current AONE member. Current members of the AONE Board of Directors and/or AONE staff are not eligible.

Prism

Recognizes an organization or individual who has advanced diversity efforts within the nursing profession and the organization’s community.

Eligibility
Individual nominee must be a current AONE Member for at least one year. An organization nomination must be submitted by a current AONE member. Current members of the AONE Board of Directors and/or AONE staff are not eligible.

Pamela Austin Thompson Early Careerist

Recognizes an AONE or AONE Foundation program alumnus who exhibits significant potential as a future health care leader and demonstrates exemplary leadership within his or her organization, community and the nursing profession.

Eligibility
Active AONE member. Participated in AONE and/or AONE Foundation education program. Have 5 – 10 years of experience as a nurse in a leadership position. Exhibits significant potential as a future health care leader and role model to other early careerists.
