The AAMI Foundation
The AAMI Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose primary mission is to serve the public welfare and improve patient safety by fostering support and recognition for the advancement of healthcare technology management. The AAMI Foundation’s vision is to ensure the safe adoption and safe use of healthcare technology. It does this through the work of safety initiatives, the distribution of scholarships to students, global outreach initiatives, and awards for excellence. The AONE is currently serving as a member on their Complex Technology Planning Committee.
Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices (Alliance)
Alliance is a non-profit organization that works to ensure that all foreign-educated professionals are recruited in a fair, ethical and transparent manner for employment in the U.S. The Alliance has developed voluntary Codes of Conduct to govern recruitment through a multi-stakeholder, collaborative process representing groups from across the relevant sectors. AONE is a Collaborating Partner of this organization and has pledged its commitment to making the vision of this Alliance a reality.
American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)
AACN represents the interests of more than 500,000 nurses who are charged with the responsibility of caring for acutely and critically ill patients. The Essentials of Nurse Manager Orientation (ENMO) program was developed in partnership by AONE and AACN, and is the first leadership course created specifically for nurse managers.
The American Hospital Association (AHA)
AHA is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. Nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 43,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. AONE is a subsidiary of the AHA.
Arizona State University
The Interprofessional Fellowship in Innovative Health Leadership is a year-long, cohort-based experience in health innovation leadership offered by Arizona State University and AONE in partnership with Mayo Clinic’s Center for Innovation.
Coalition for Health Care Funding
The Coalition for Health Funding is the oldest and largest nonprofit alliance working to preserve and strengthen public health investments in the best interest of all Americans. The coalition advocates and educates for funding of federal discretionary programs that affects the lives over more than 100 million patients, health care providers, public health professionals and scientists. AONE lobbies and holds events with the Coalition for Health Care Funding.
The Daisy Foundation
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses celebrates nurses in over 1,800 health care facilities around the world. AONE is a supportive partner to The Daisy Foundation and provides recognition during the AONE Annual Meeting.
ECRI (formerly the Emergency Care Research Institute)
The ECRI Institute is an independent nonprofit organization that researches approaches to improving patient care. The ECRI Institute is dedicated to bringing the discipline of applied scientific research to discover which medical procedures, devices, drugs, and processes are best, to ensure improved patient care outcomes. The AONE is currently serving as a collaborating organization participating in ECRI’s Partnership for Health IT Safety. The Partnership is a collaborative program for sharing and analyzing health IT-related patient safety hazards and events within a non-punitive learning environment in support of improved safety efforts.
Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
Originally aimed at teaching and networking, ENA has evolved into an authority, advocate, lobbyist and voice for emergency nursing. AONE and ENA have worked together to create guiding principles on workplace violence.
Harvard Business School
AONE is a partner with Harvard Business School on the Managing Health Care Delivery program. Geared toward both clinical and nonclinical executives in health care delivery organizations, the intensive learning experience is carefully structured to deepen the understanding of participant’s organizational effectiveness.
Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)
AONE and HFMA faculty provide an overview of executive level health care finance. The Certificate Program in Health Care Finance for Nurse Executives provides senior nurse executives with the concepts, tools and techniques to understand how the integration of clinical, operational and financial data impacts day-to-day operations and bottom line.
Healthcare Leadership Alliance (HLA)
The HLA is a consortium of the nation's premier professional health care administration associations, representing more than 140,000 health care management professionals. The goal of the Alliance is to pursue common interests and advance the health care management profession. The HLA Competency Directory is a direct result of this unique and valuable collaboration.
National Council State Board of Nursing (NCSBN)
NCSBN is an independent, not-for-profit organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety and welfare, including the development of nursing licensure examinations. Periodic meetings between the leadership of AONE and NCSBN provides an opportunity to share important information on strategic direction and identification of specific areas of collaboration.
National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF)
The National Patient Safety Foundation’s (NPSF) vision is to create a world where patients and those who care for them are free from harm. Since its inception in 1997, the NPSF has partnered with patients and families, the health care community, and key stakeholders to advance patient safety and health care workforce safety and to disseminate strategies to prevent harm. NPSF is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Pamela Thompson, AONE CEO has served as the chair of the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) Board of Directors, was a member of the Lucian Leape Institute of NPSF and currently serves on the NPSF Board of Advisors.
National Quality Forum (NQF)
The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan, membership-based organization that works to catalyze improvements in healthcare. The NQF’s mission is the lead national collaboration to improve health and healthcare quality through measurement. The NQF convenes working groups to foster quality improvement in both public- and private-sectors; endorses consensus standards for performance measurement; ensures that consistent, high-quality performance information is publicly available; and seeks real time feedback to ensure measures are meaningful and accurate. The AONE is a long standing member of the NQF and has participated on committees and forums as a National Quality Partner.
National Student Nurses Association
With a membership of 60,000 nationwide, the National Student Nurses' Association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. AONE is a proud, long-time sponsor of their Council of State Presidents.
Nurses on Boards Coalition
The Nurses on Boards Coalition works to ensure that at least 10,000 nurses are on boards by 2020. Their goal is to improve the health of communities and the nation through the service of nurses on boards and other bodies. All boards benefit from the unique perspective of nurses to achieve the goals of improved health and efficient and effective health care systems at the local, state and national levels. AONE is a founding member of this coalition.
Nursing Alliance for Quality Healthcare (NAQC)
The Nursing Alliance for Quality Care (NAQC) was created in 2010 through a grant from Robert Wood Johnson and since 2013 has been managed by the American Nurses Association (ANA). The NAQC is a partnership comprised of twenty-two national nursing organizations (including the AONE), consumer advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders with a mission to advance the highest quality, safety, and value of consumer-centered health care for all individuals-patients, their families, and their communities. The NAQC believes that with stronger, more unified nursing policy ‘voices’ dramatic and sustainable achievement in quality and safety for the American public will be achieved.
The Nursing Organizations Alliance (The Alliance)
The purpose of the Alliance is to provide a forum for identification, education and collaboration building on issues of common interest to advance the nursing profession. As an Alliance member, AONE collaborates on issues to advance the nursing profession.
Rapid Modeling Corporation
Rapid Modeling Corporation is a simulation, modeling, and optimization consulting firm that specializes in hospital and factory Industrial Engineering software. Rapid Modeling Corporation developed Time Study RN in 2002 for the Robert Wood Johnson initiative “Transforming Care at the Bedside” or TCAB which was the forerunner to the AONE Care Innovation and Transformation (CIT) initiative that commenced in 2010. Time Study RN is a tool offered to the CIT teams to help front-line nurses actively measure and collect data about their daily activities on their clinical units which can then guide their test of change initiatives.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF)
RWJF supports The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. The Campaign for Action is a coordinated national campaign that provides a blueprint for transforming the nursing profession to improve the quality of health care and the way it is delivered. APIN collaborates closely with the Campaign and is a grant initiative of the RWJF in partnership with the Tri-Council and administered by the AONE.
The Nursing Community
The Nursing Community is a coalition of national professional nursing associations dedicated to building consensus and advocating on a wide spectrum of health care and nursing issues, including practice, education, and research. The Nursing Community is committed to improving the health and health care of our nation by supporting the education and practice of RNs and APRNs. AONE participates in the Nursing Community by sending joint letters to congress.
Tri-Council for Nursing
The Tri-Council for Nursing is an alliance of between the AACN, ANA, AONE and NLN, focusing on leadership for education, practice and research. While each organization has its own constituent membership and unique mission, they are united by common values and convene regularly for the purpose of dialogue and consensus building, to provide stewardship within the profession of nursing. AONE participates in the Tri-Council by sending joint letters to congress.
