This support from the AONE Institute will enable the development of a new instrument which will measure of the safety behaviors of staff nurses and ultimately improve our understanding of how to maximize safety initiatives in our practice.

The AONE Institute’s Research Seed Grant Program funds grants to support research projects related to nursing administration practice. The awards have been granted annually since 2003 and to date the Institute has awarded a total of $158,675 in seed grant funds to members. One-year grant awards of $3,000 to $8,000 support research in the following categories: Workforce, work environment, leadership development, patient safety, and evidence-based management practices.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2010. Grant recipients will be notified by February 1, 2011, and will be honored at the AONE 44th Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Diego, CA on April 13-16, 2011.
