Chicago, IL (Friday, August 5, 2011) —The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) this week unveiled its new organizational logo and redesigned website—www.aone.org.
The announcement of these new initiatives reflects the organization’s continuing efforts to respond to nursing leadership's ever-evolving nature of health care delivery. At the close of 2010, a new organizational mission statement—to shape health care through innovative and expert nursing leadership—was adopted and announced to AONE members and the greater nursing community. In early 2011, the organization further examined the relevance of the current AONE logo and branding as well as adding a descriptive tagline. Concepts for a new logo and tagline were presented via an online survey to all AONE members. The results were shared with the AONE Board of Directors who officially adopted the organizational change in late July.
“The new identity of AONE represents much more than a new logo. As nursing leadership has evolved over the past decade, the new overall branding of AONE will be instrumental in representing our future initiatives,” said AONE chief executive officer, Pamela A. Thompson, MS, RN, CENP, FAAN. “We have retained the traditional “AONE red” color, but have re-worked the design to represent our future-looking nature and bold approach to nursing leadership. Surveyed members have described the new logo as inspiring, unique and distinctive.”
AONE has also redesigned its website—www.aone.org—which features commonly accessed items such as the AONE Guiding Principles and Toolkits, AONE Nurse Executive Competencies, Nurse Manager Inventory Tool and various position and policy statements. With the re-launch of the website, members will experience enhanced web capabilities and search functionality as well as more streamlined navigation. The improved site will also serve as an appealing platform to communicate the importance of education, resources and advocacy for nurse leaders of all levels.
