Berwick, M.D., former administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), with its 2012 Honorary Member Award. Dr. Berwick will be honored at an award presentation during the AONE 45th Annual Meeting and Exposition in Boston on March 22, 2012.

    This week, the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) announced its new AONE Innovation in Technology Award during their 44th Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Diego, CA. Beginning in 2012, the award will be presented annually to an outstanding nurse leader who demonstrates innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in the implementation and adoption of technology in their organization.  The award will recognize pioneering approaches to working with the ever-increasing number of tools and resources designed to make patient care more efficient.  With a focus on application and not products, this award also aligns with AONE’s efforts to support the design, implementation and evaluation of future patient care delivery systems that effectively leverage technological resources.
